The One True God cannot be compared to any other because He is Holy -- He is set apart from all others. I cannot know God through my own understanding. He must reveal His character to me. God has revealed Himself to us through His Word the Bible. I come to know who God is by believing what His Word says about Him. The Most High God Does Not Share His Glory(Isaiah 42:8) "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Idols rob God of His glory that He deserves. When we go outside of God's revealed Word to define His character we also rob God of His glory. The Most High God is the Only Savior (Isaiah 45:20-24)There is no other Savior from sin but the One True God and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. Other gods promise to do many things for humans but no other god has done what the Most High God has done. The God of the Bible is Creator, Redeemer, and Restorer of this fallen world cursed by sin. Why must we have a right concept of God?Our concept of God will determine the philosophy of ministry of our church. Our concept of God will determine the power of our gospel witness. Our concept of God will determine the morality of our personal lives.
