Revelation 21:2-22:5

Description of the Holy City (21:12-18)

• Great & high wall -- speaks to the fact that only those unworthy are kept out of the city (over 200 feet)
• Gates -- twelve, guarded by angels inscribed with the names of the twelve tribes of Israel
• Height, length, and width of the city are all the same -- 1,342 miles (1 furlong = 582 feet)
• Some believe the city is shaped as a pyramid so that the river of life can flow from the Throne of God down throughout all the city
• John describes the wall as being transparent jasper and the city transparent gold -- God's glory is able to shine throughout

• Overcomers -- shall inherit all things including an intimate relationship with God Almighty (21:7)
• The Saved (21:24, 26)
