Sunday March 25, 2007 I Must Tell Jesus (Psalm 62)
"Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved." (v. 1-2) "My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God." (v.5-7) Salvation - Stability, Protection, Assurance, Security, Deliverence
Defense - High Fort
Refuge - Shelter, Place of Protection, Place that you to to get away from something harmful In the NT Jesus had this to say: (Matt. 7:24-25) "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock." (Luke 6:47-48) "Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock." Our Privilege: "Trust in him at all times; ye peaple, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah." (v.8) 1) __Trust__ 2)__Pour__ out your heart (1 Peter 5:5b-7) "Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Promise - God is a refuge for us, when we come clean and pour our hearts out to Him. |
